2016 Myer Spring Fashion Lunch
Fashion, Food, Flemington … and more Fashion!
Spring is finally here, and that means Spring Racing is just around the corner. What better way to kick off the season, than bringing together Melbourne’s best in both racing and fashion.
700 of Melbourne’s most glamorous socialites and fashionistas arrived at Flemington at noon, donning their best spring racing looks.
This year, the event was hosted by Channel 7’s Edwina Bartholomew and Sport host Jason Richardson.
The Lunch began with a performance from Anthony Callea, who would return later in the day to keep guests entertained.
Peter Rowland put on a 2 course spread, with a special dessert designed by Darren Purchase of Sweet Studio Burch & Purchase.
Recently announced 2016 Myer Fashions on the Field Ambassador, Stephanie Smith, debuted in her role, looking chic in an Asilio dress, paired with Tony Bianco heels and finished perfectly with a Natalie Bikicki headpiece.
Finally what everyone came for, the fashion parade highlighting the hottest trends of this Spring Racing season. The show featured new season clothing and millinery from brands including Alex Perry, Maticevski, Yeojin Bae, Dom Bagnato & Viktoria Novak.
Soft neutrals and pastels ruled the runway, with bolder reds and yellows making an appearance also. Gorgeous boho ensembles were done perfectly by Seed, with feminine florals and lace continuing to shine through.
For headwear, the boater hat trend is continuing this spring racing season, as well as the structured metal and leather look crowns. Big colors for spring headpieces; metallic and monochrome.
For the men, grey and blue suits prevailed, often paired with softer lilac and coral, or deeper red and navy for shirts and ties.
Face of Myer, Jen Hawkins, wowed in a bright yellow Alex Perry showstopper, closing the show with Olympic Swimmer, Cam McEvoy.
