Accessorising Your Race Day Look With Mon Purse
We caught up with Mon Purse‘s Digital & E-Commerce Co-Ordinator, April Fraser to chat about the best ways to accessorise your Spring Racing look this season.
Mon Purse is an Official Event Partner for Styles on the Straight 2018 and will have Mon Purse Representatives, Barbara Zamora, Sydney Retail Manager, will feature on the judging panel on AAMI (Victoria) Derby Day.
What are the biggest accessory trends this season?
Raceday is all about the accessories – and your headpiece doesn’t have to be the only statement piece.
Pick a complimentary purse or clutch, that ties your outfit together in matching tones – or keep it contrasted with a big bold bag, perfect for use both on-and-off the track.
See it as a chance to pick up something new, not only for the event day but to last you through the summer.
What is the biggest colour for spring summer?
Soft pastel hues are always a spring racing favourite, and a bold statement in red always makes a mark.
There’s also nothing wrong with a all-time classic black, working back with every piece in your wardrobe.
Would you advise have to match the colour of your bag to the colour of your shoes?
The rules no longer apply with matching accessories – and sometimes contrasting pieces can easily bring together an outfit.
If you’re not sure how to contrast, stick with matching tones and it will pull the look together.
What essentials would you have in your bag on a race day at Flemington?
Aside from the basics (phone, wallet, keys etc) the absolute race-day essentials include – panadol, bandaids, bobby pins, makeup touch-ups & phone charger.
(If your bag is big enough not a bad idea to bring along a pair of comfortable flats).
What is the ideal accessories to bring to the races? Clutch, purse?
Either! Base your accessory/bag decision on your outfit, and remember you will most likely have a drink in your hand (so something with a strap is a safe bet).
A clutch with removable chain also works perfectly for this, and we have a range of options available in our Spring Racing Edit.
