It was a wet and muddy start to the Melbourne Cup Carnival this year. Nonetheless, it may have dampened the racecourse but it definitely did not dampen the spirits of racegoers. Our resident entertainment, Blush Coverband still got racegoers up and dancing after lunch, despite the weather conditions.

There was a dominant winner of the AAMI Victoria Derby in Warning, trained by Anthony Freedman and ridden by Damien Oliver. Southern Moon came in 2nd, with Soul Patch taking out 3rd place.

Styles on the Straight was back for its 4th consecutive year and was again a crowd favourite. The weather restricted us from holding the even on the main stage, however, it was still a great success.

We had representatives from our Event Partners join us as Guest Judges on the day. A big thank you to Souri Sengdara from Velvet & Tonic, Ramzy Nawzar from Gibson & Cambridge and Kim Bullock from Hypoxi for joining us.

A big congratulations to our Styles on the Straight Winners for AAMI Victoria Derby Day:
